Allow me to share a profound quote by the evangelist Reinhard Bonnke that I posted in my closet as a constant reminder: “(Pray) that the perfect will of God will operate in others’ lives.”
That earnest plea is one we can have for the entire world! For our Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ, came to reconcile man to God and demonstrate His love for each and every one of us.
The Holy Scriptures tell us many things about the will of God. For that I am grateful.
If you had to sum up the will of God, we can turn to the words of the Apostle Paul, (which he penned from a Roman prison cell): “That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Ephesians 3:17-19 NKJV). Despite his faith being tested, we have no doubt that God continued to minister his love to Paul as he shared in the sufferings of Christ.
Modern-day Christian, may I ask you a question? Is your appeal to Christ an appeal of love? God stands ready to pour His immense love upon anyone who opens their heart and receives Him. We know that if someone says ‘yes’ to Jesus, they are actually saying yes to Love itself.
“And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (John 4:16).
He loves you! He loves me! Can you grasp this truth and believe?
