Acción de gracias y Navidad son fiestas que nos invitan a la gratitud y a la esperanza. El niño de Belén vino a traer luz a este mundo, a darnos un nuevo amanecer en el que podamos mirar el futuro con esperanza. El niño indefenso de Belén es el mismo Señor que nos ofrece la victoria en Apocalipsis, y con ella innumerables promesas que necesitamos recordar al despedir el año que está desvaneciéndose:
I. Apocalipsis 2:7. “Al que venciere, le daré a comer del árbol de la vida, el cual está en medio del paraíso de Dios.”
II. Apocalipsis 2:11. “… El que venciere, no sufrirá daño de la segunda muerte.”
III. Apocalipsis 2:17. “… Al que venciere, daré a comer del maná escondido, y le daré una piedrecita blanca, y en la piedrecita escrito un nombre nuevo, el cual ninguno conoce sino aquel que lo recibe.
IV. Apocalipsis 2:26-29. Al que venciere y guardare mis obras hasta el fin, yo le daré autoridad sobre las naciones, y las regirá con vara de hierro, y serán quebradas como vaso de alfarero; como yo también la he recibido de mi Padre; y le daré la estrella de la mañana. El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias.
V. Apocalipsis 3:5,6. “El que venciere será vestido de vestiduras blancas; y no borraré su nombre del libro de la vida, y confesaré su nombre delante de mi Padre, y delante de sus ángeles…”
VI. Apocalipsis 3:12,13. “Al que venciere, yo lo haré columna en el templo de mi Dios, y nunca más saldrá de allí; y escribiré sobre él el nombre de mi Dios, y el nombre de la ciudad de mi Dios, la nueva Jerusalén, la cual desciende del cielo, de mi Dios, y mi nombre nuevo.”
VII. Apocalipsis 3:21. “Al que venciere, le daré que se siente conmigo en mi trono, así como yo he vencido, y me he sentado con mi Padre en su trono. El que tiene oído, oiga lo que el Espíritu dice a las iglesias.”
Cristo ha vencido a la muerte, el pecado y el Diablo y nos invita a compartir su victoria. En Cristo somos más que vencedores, pero sin Cristo estamos perdidos. Digamos con el apóstol Pablo: “Para mí el vivir es Cristo y el morir es ganancia.” (Filipenses 1:21).
7 PROMISES THAT INVITE TO OPTIMISM
Thanksgiving and Christmas are holidays that invite us to be grateful and hopeful. The Child from Bethlehem came to bring light to this world, to give us a new dawn filled with hope. The defenseless child from Bethlehem is the same Lord who offers victory in Revelation, and with it a great number of promises we need to recall as we wave farewell to the year which is fading away:
I. Revelation 2:7. “The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will grant to eat from the tree of life, which is in the Paradise of God” (NASB).
II. Revelation 2:11. “…the one who overcomes will not be hurt by the second death.”
III. Revelation 2:17 “…To the one who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone, and a new name written on the stone which no one knows except the one who receives it.”
IV. Revelation 2:26-29. “The one who overcomes, and the one who keeps My deeds until the end, I will give him authority over the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are shattered, as I also have received authority from My Father; and I will give him the morning star.”
V. Revelation 3:5. “The one who overcomes will be clothed the same way, in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.”
VI. Revelation 3:12. “The one who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God, and My new name.”
VII. Revelation 3:21-22. “The one who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat with My Father on His throne. The one who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
Jesus Christ overcame death, sin, and the Devil, and invites us to take part in his victory. In Christ we are more than conquerors but without Christ we are lost. Let us say with the apostle Paul: “for to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).
