Crucified with Christ

For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin (Romans 6:5-6).

You have a new life in Him. You are united with Him in His death and resurrection. Christ did it all. You are free. All you have to do is to say, “I receive this Lord, thank you.”

Your old self was crucified with Him on the cross (i.e., your old nature). Now you are no longer a slave to sin because He has freed you from it (see Romans 6:6 above).

The chains of sin have been broken! Jesus came to break the chains of sin and death. All you have to do is say, “Wow, I receive this wonderful gift. You have done it all for me.”

After you have said to Jesus, “Oh Jesus! I receive this gift, you have done it all for me. Thank you for my new life that is now in You,” this is called being born again.

Sin may tempt us, but we are no longer confused or bound. The chain has been broken, and we can never stay in that dark, confusing place again. If we start to slip, we will always run to the light.

As the apostle, Paul said, “I affirm, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily” (1 Corinthians 15:1).

Have a blessed day in Jesus!
